Command Sergeant Major (Ret) James Manning Jr. is a native of Emporia, VA. He has served in all leadership positions in the United States Army, culminating as the Division Command Sergeant Major (rear) of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration/Management from Excelsior College and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from The University of Incarnate Word. In addition, James is a 2010 graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (class 60). James retired from the Army in 2019 after serving 30 years. James is married to Angela, and they have three children.
